29/70 barrel replacement

Is possible to replace a 4" barrel with a 6" on a Mauser Swiss style 29/70?

I don't see why not. But then again what do I know. I would ask one of the members directly that work on these fine pistols.

Hi,

Yes, 'but'. You'd have to use a Postwar Mauser made 6" barrel, as the threading style differs from the earlier P08-style barrels.

I thought I remembered reading that the barrel shank was differrent from earlier styles. Any idea where to get a post war 6" barrel? Are you out there Tom H.?

Sorry, I'm completely sold out of the Mauser Parabellum barrels. There is still some NOS in Germany, but no longer importable into the USA. TH
