H-H Auction Offering...

The October 18 Hermann Historica auction has Lot # 959 coming up.

Nice holster...maybe sell off the arty ???

Looks like the brass closure stud on the closure strap is a modification...

Not sure what to think about the cleaning rod ???

Isn't that holster a repro?

mauro 10-14-2006 04:26 AM

The Holster is a Mars Pebble grain holster. It has been modified to be carried on the belt I guess.
This kind of holster is really rare.
I guess that the holster is the interesting item of the rig :p
Cheers,
Mauro

Hi Mauro,

Is the "toe" of the holster typical or somewhat rare as well ???

mauro 10-15-2006 02:21 AM

Ops,
I am sorry Pete...
What does "toe" mean? The holster has been modified and there are not picture of the back.
It seems a correct Mars. On the back it should be stamped with "Mars" Berlin 1915. I saw one 1914 dated.
Cheers,
Mauro

The toe is correct for that type holster. It looks like a very nice example.

Pete Ebbink 10-15-2006 11:47 AM

Sorry, Mauro...

I should have explained the termonology :

Some Americans call the bottom-most tip of the holster (where the gun's muzzle end would rest) the "toe"...

mauro 10-15-2006 12:21 PM

Thank you Pete for the explanation.
Therefore, as already underlined by Geo, the "toe" is correct.
If you look at my web site, in the holster page, you can see some more pics of the Mars holsters.
Cheers,
Mauro
