Anyone have this type of "rack number"?
In researching the unit markings on Saxon police Lugers, I have come to suspect that there may be Lugers with numbers stamped on the rear of the frame above the lanyard loop that once belonged to the police of the Bautzen district. The marking would look like this:
http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/dsc05083.jpg It would have a maximum of three digits and would probably be on a 1920-dated DWM. Grip strap markings, if any, would not need to match number. Please let me know if you have or have seen this type of marking. Photos would be great but I'd like to know the number stamped on the frame, the specifics of the gun (chamber date, toggle logo, serial no. & suffix, sear and/or mag safeties, etc.) and any grip strap marking. Thanks very much. |
Don I have a 1914 commercial with a 4 digit number on the back. Are you only looking for 3 digits. Bill

Bill,
Thanks for the reply but I'm looking for three digits max. |
Hi
I have one 1918/1920 1598b (If I remember right) On the rear under the lanyard loop, is a 7 with a space and then 33 I am trying to post photos under my post of a few days ago. Luger is new to me, and I am new to lugers, so not very knowledgeable Patrick |
