Assistance Needed IDing Luger

Toggle inscription: S/42 with a "G" on the chamber. No safety grip with stock lug present. 9 mm. Grips seems to show a brown color at the bottom but is darker up top. Thumb safety reads: Gesichert. Top of barrel shows a bird w/63 below it. Side of barrel reads: #3902, with a 02 on all parts attached all over. 3 symbols on the side depicting 2 birds w/63 below it and what looks like a square with lines or a rainfall affect coming from the bottom. Magazine reads #3497 with a bird/63 what what looks like a cursive letter "s". Any idea of the year and era of this German Luger. Thanks.

Hi Darryl,

Welcome to the forum.

You have a Mauser produced G date (1935).

If you can post photos? .

Ron

Thanks to all for the assistance and information. Now to figure out how to break down, clean, and put it back together.

You are in luck... do a search for the word "video" and you will find the latest we have in instruction... and more are to come...

goodwind, welcome to the forum! be careful taking it apart, especially the grips, as they like to chip if they stick on the frame. And it can be a trick putting it back together the first 10 times, :D
