Blank Chamber, "s" suffix, M/anchor/N.

Just looked at one of these, had an unnumbered safety bar (sear block), blank chamber date, C/N proofs and was M/anchor/N.xxx marked on the rear gripstrap.

I know it's a Weimar Reichsmarine luger... should the safety bar be numbered?

Anyone have a ball park value on such a piece w/ unnumbered safety bar?

Thanks for any help,
Jack

Hello Jack,

I checked my Weimar Navies (9 total); the DWM blank chambers do not have sear bar numbering.

Values are all over the board; having said that, Weimar Navies are far rarer than Imperials or III Reich, but not much is known about them. I will change that when my book is published.

Jack,

The small parts of DWMs with "s" suffixes ("29 DWMs" per Jan Still's nomenclature) were originally numbered in the commercial (hidden) style. Unless the purchaser re-stamped them in military style, they stayed that way. Apparently, the Navy did not.
