Waiting for my C&R, how long did you wait?
 

I recently submitted an application for a Curios & Relics Class 3 FFL in the state of Virginia. I know they say it takes 4-8 weeks to process but I was wondering how long members of this group took to have their completed applications processed and returned as licenses and whether anyone was denied. I just ordered a byf 43 P38 and am anxious to get my license so that I can finally have it delivered.

I receive mine in May after sending in the paperwork last Dec. Just short of 6 months. Local agent told me they had some delay in paperwork between the State and the DOJ.??? Whatever that meant Sounded like beauicratic double talk. Of course that is here in Calif. where folks don't like handguns.

I had mine in less than 5 weeks, then my renewal was just a couple of weeks. I'd count on their time frame and be pleased when it is quicker, but as 75B said, sometimes there are "delays" and it takes longer...

Here in FLA I got it in 4 weeks, but a buddy of mine San Diego had to wait for 4 months, presumably for the same issues as outlined by 75BShooter.

4-6 weeks in Virginia...

My original one took around 3 months, my renewal earlier this year took about two months.

It figures that I ended up seeing a nice BYF43 P38 on Joe Salter's site just days after sending out my filled application. I bought it, but Im now I have to count the days until I might potentially get my lisence and send it in for them to ship the pistol to me.
