1917 Dwm
This was brought back by a WW1 vet. I purchased it from his grandson. It was in his father's trunk for at least 60 years, till it was removed from the trunk. Since I still have not figured how to post pictures (but I will) a description will have to do. This is as pure as they get.
1917 DWM, 5269d all matching including wood base magazine, fine tune front sight, rear sight numbered to gun, grips unmarked inside (believe I was the first person to take off the right grip since it left the factory, did not remove the left grip for fear of chiping). Has original holster (very dry) no maker mark, with stripping tool (no mark), and cleaning rod (no mark). I believe this rig is exactly as it was when it left the factory 89 years ago. |
Carl, this sounds very nice, send the pictures to me, and I'll post them for you bud! I need to just drive over and have lunch (only 350 miles one way!!)

You may have won the lottery. I would wait until I had agreement between TWO Luger experts into whether and how much I would even clean the thing.
Then go with dental picks and microscopes. Seriously I would kill to get something like that. I have a 17 DWM Arty but it is junk; only shoots small groups but it's ugly. |
hey, I took pictures of this while I was at Carl's house, think I should post them?
All original and matching artillery... Ed |
