original grip storage
I have replaced most of the original grips on my Lugers for various reasons; shooting, presentation, but mostly preservation. Now the next step that I need advise on is how to store these grips without damaging them....i.e. dryrot(AZ), use of preservatives without changing color, humidity (TX) etc. Need some help with antique wood care, bitte!

Put on a few drops of pure Tung OIl, take a used toothbrush & work it into all the checkering, apply to the backs also. Put the pairs in small zip-lock bags and store in a safe place inside your house.
