Flaming Bomb question

The so-called "flaming bomb" inspector's mark is found throughout model 1900 production. Has anyone observed it on later models--1906, 08 Commercials, etc.?

Dwight,

Go to my M1906 M2 Portuguese photo album in the Member's Gallery on page 6.

Serial # 2866 has the flaming bomb in the front frame well. There is a photo in the first page of the album.

Pete, thanks much.

Dwight, see my posts on Jan Still's Forum. It seems that, except for the triangle in a circle well mark of the 1902 models, the flaming bomb mark comes back for the early 1906's through about the 40,000 serial number.

Doc,

Saw your comments there.

How many "flaming bomb" magazines can be reported?

The only one I have, Dwight, is on the bottom wood base of my 1902 carbine. I just don't have knowledge of others.

I have sold maybe 3 early wood based luger mags with the "flaming bomb" marking over the last 30 years. Since I believe this to be an inspector's mark, this was probably only applied to a relatively few mags, checked at random. This mark in the frames TD lever well is quite common on these early DWMs. TH

Dwight,

The M1900 AE serial # 8598 I sold to a LF member about 1.5 years ago had a very old and worn FB magazine with it.

(Text Added : And a FB proof in the front frame well, too.)
