Trigger Pull Help
 

Shot my "new" 1937 S/42 shooter today with two different types of magazines, Triple-K SS and Mec-Gar Blue. Both performed flawlessly. Will try others tomorrow and report results.


PROBLEM: While this shooter works well, the trigger pull is miserable, the worst I have ever experienced with any firearm. The pull is long and very hard at the end just before releasing the firing pin.


QUESTION: Does anyone know how to solve this problem? Is there anything simple that I can do?

I did wrote an explanation who to di it a cupole of weeks ago.

So if you go bakc you will find it.


It's really no problem at all to get a match trigger on your gun

But if you can do it yourself it all depends how good metalsmith you are.

Luke, Short of doing some filing on the firing pin & Sear overlap, which I don't recommend unless you have done it many times before, you can try a different trigger lever in the side plate, a different firing pin with a lower engagement cut or if you wish to keep the pistol all matching, an experienced gunsmith can bend the trigger bar (sear) for less over lap with the firing pin.

for the trigger mechanism so you don't have to worry about messing up the original parts, and then you can experiment with the different techniques for improving your trigger.


Carefully stoning the Firing pin sear/trigger bar surfaces with a VERY hard arkansas stone that will remove any machine marks without changing engagement depth or angles will give you some relief... But major improvements will require either an experienced gunsmith or much effort.


I don't know how you would manage the international movement of parts, but from his postings and photo essays on trigger improvement, HÃ?Â¥kan seems to know his stuff about Luger Match triggers... or perhaps he could make you a drop-in set of parts that would not be restricted by international arms movement laws...
