Purple Heart (Haji Bolo badge)
All,
My son was hit Sunday night/early Monday AM with multiple fragments in the face and arm as he was taking down some of Mookie al Sadr's badguys in Sadr City. His guys lost one friendly KIA and several other WIA; the bad guys fared far worse. According to his wife, he was not hospitalized and went out Tues night for some pay-back. He is due to DEROS in 20 days. Tom A |
Tom, Sorry to hear that. I hope he is doing well and will give them hell. This fight against Muslim terrorism may last into the next generation and beyond unless we get serious. It is Hero's like your Son who let us sleep safely at night. Jerry Burney

We wish your son well, now go get a bit of payback for all of us!
|
Tom,
God bless your son and all who serve along with him. May a grateful nation someday realize the necessity of their service and recognize the sacrifice they make on our behalf. Russell |
We will continue to keep your son and all of the sons and daughters defending our freedom in prayer Tom... 20 days and counting... he is a short timer for this deployment... and well due for some R&R back home...
|
Tom, all I can say is; warriors find it and give back... I hope he is fine, but any scars were earned in combat... I bet he is grieving his men hurt and KIA...

Ed,
He is one tough hombre but very caring of his men, who are mostly kurds. He said he would put them up against any infantry in the world and offer 3 to 5 odds they would win. The lad has done us all proud and will be starting law school in the fall...3 combat tours is enough. Tom A |
Tom,
I weep as I read about the bravery shown by your son and the men he leads against the cowards hiding behind terrorism. You are a special father to have raised a son that we all should be so lucky to have protecting us. A tip my glass to your son and to you also, Tom; as men like him are created by great families. You have my greatest respect. Jack Hiles Mesa AZ |
I thank you for your son, his service to this nation and his contribution to the freedom that we each enjoy. He and his unit are in my prayers tonight.
|
Tom,
You son is a hero, and we pray that God will continue to protect him throught this ordeal. I'm sure I speak for all of us; thank him for his service to this great Country. Best Regards, Luke |
Tom,
19 and out... Mixed feelings, elation and dread. I know the feeling. Best of luck to your Son. Ron |
I wish to your son and all your family my best wishes.
Good luck! Mauro |
Recieved an e-mail up-date from my son.
Seems he ate part of a 105 MM IED that detonated prematurely during a dust up in Sadr City. He said he expended 200+ rounds of 50 cal from "Ma Deuce" and they had Spectre firing danger close. The bad guys got hit so bad that the PC patrol intervened. Seems to me you win wars by destroying the enemy's ability to make war and his will to make war. Grant, Sherman, Lincoln, Patton, Ike, MacArthur all understood this. Why doesn't our "leadership" understand this now? Tom A |
Tom my wifes and my prayers go to to your son.
|
Tom,
Best of luck and prayers to you and your son. My son is also in and around the same area of Bagdad with the 3/2... Glen |
I am humbled, honored, and unworthy of the risk, the courage, and of the daily sacrifice this new generation of warriors provide in that we are safe and comfortable in our homes and daily lives. They must fight the enemy with the knowledge these perverted fanatics must be destroyed lest they destroy us. There is simply no other way. The enemy wears no uniforms, uses innocent children and women as shields, attacks their own by the use of suicide assassins, and blankets these murderers under the guise of Islam. Our soldier's cause is noble. God protect these soldiers and give them the courage and ferocity to destroy those will live only to destroy us and all we hold of value.
