Ich habe keine Luger Pistolen gesehen...Gehwehre ja, alte Pistolen ja, aber Lugers nein.
I would love to go there. Maybe someday. |
Hi Ron,
I've mailed an inquiry about lugers on display and if the B-L # 5 (or other Bern prototypes) are on display. When I hear I will post. It would make sense to plan this museum trip to coincide with one of the large Swiss gun fairs. |
Hello
I'm living 1 hour 1/2 from Thun, should you receive any nice infos, I'll go there and make some pictures, I was planing a trip with my soon to the museum anyway Best regards from Switzerland |
At the gun show of "La Saraz" last June I had a chat with one of the staff members of this museum. This person told me that they are actually carrying out Gen. Guisan's orders (that no one dared to set aside in the meantime) to keep for future generations at least one sample of each peace of equipment that has been used in the Swiss army since the 1874 reorganisation. They have a huge stock of military stuff.
So logically you should be able to see all different kinds of lugers that were used by the Swiss army. |
The small arms section of the VSAM covers most of the military issue handguns and also contains lots of experimentals and prototypes.
The total museum collection is too much to see all in one day, the problem is that the collection is still spread over several buildings and not all is on display, most is just stocked. If one plans to go there get in touch with Henri Habegger (see the museum website) to see if there are guided tours planned at the time you are there as the museum is not open to the public yet. It is best to tell him your main interest before, he might be able to arrange something special for you. Guisan. :) |
