Holster Holy Grail...

When I am in the dumps after fruitless luger holster hunting, I go back to these photos and get encouraged to start the hunt, again.

There are still nice holsters out there.

These are not mine...just some that have poped up on the Internet in the past 1-2 years :

The pig skin holster is absolutely outstanding!!

If I may ask, Pete, what sort of prices were they commanding?

Russell,

The nice 1940's...probably $ 450 or so.

The pig skin one is very rare...I would consider paying $ 700 if I wanted one in my collection.

holsters

Just by the cut of the bucket, and the texture of the pigskin... I'd guess the pig holster is an erg code.. Seems the more common, and most of the time best condition ones are DLU code.. they are usually not all pigskin either. The straps and spare tool pouch may be made of cow hide or pigskin. A nice supple "pig" holster in that condition is really, really, really rare!!! I'd have to see the inside and the back, but if it's like the front, I really don't think $750.00 would cut it! (Sorry Pete! ) If anyone has some like this for sale, "I'm your huckleberry" As said by Val Kilmer in a Wyatt Earp movie! Especially DLU types... Leon knows what I mean! :) :) Best to all, til....lat'r.....GT

Some really nice holsters are often offered by a collector who ebay name is "pcay"

His holster always command a premium price but the condition is unbelieveable... I posted a couple of his photos in the Member Gallery with his permission, but I don't believe he is a member of the forum... keep your search engine on ebay watching for his offerings if you are looking for quality with a price to match...
