WTK the trick to getting the disassembly lever back in
Okay, nothing is damaged or anything. I just need to know the trick to getting the disassembly lever back into the gun. I pulled it out to try and clean it, now it won't go back in. So, what do you do to put it back?
Thanks for the assistance. |
Well, never mind. I got it in! Just took three arms and three hands. Whew! I aint do'in that again.

we are talking the take down lever right?, push it in, put some down ward pressure on the lever aginst the spring, as it goes into the far side of the recieve....remember that the button end of the lever will not take to much pressure before it comes off/loose....so use the leg of the lever to apply pressure, fixed to many broken buttons in my time....place a thumb on top of lever body and also on the inside of the leg to apple the down ward pressure....stay of the button part....hope this help if not call me and I will walk you through for the first time....Howard 760-375-5703

Thanks Howard. Yes, I was refering to the "take down lever". I pulled it out just for a little cleaning and then didn't know it would take a lot to get it back in. I stayed away from the actual lever of the piece as I figured it wouldn't take much to bend or break it. I was able to put a whole lot of pressure on the actual "arm" of the lever (inside the receiver) with a piece of plastic (so not to marr anything and to get good leverage) and I pushed it inward. It then snaped back into place. I thank you for your number for the walk through also. Whew! Like I said, I aint do'in that again!

PS: once it snaps back in, there's no reason to think it went in wrong would it? There's only one way for it to snap back in isn't there? Everything is working fine, just paranoid as I didn't want to mess anything up.

Sounds like you got it and no reason to worry....try to rotate it without side plate in place....if it works then your go to go....best to ya

Thanks again. Everything seems okay.

Can;t tell you how many guys I know had that same problem. It must go thru to the other side of the frame or its not in properly. A small wooden dowell and a brass hammer and a few love taps will seat it just fine.
