Lugers in Texas...

Anyone know about these lugers in Killeen TX at Guns Galore ???

They have nearly 5 pages and some of the 1970-80's Mauser lugers.

Most offerings in cased sets and several are listed as re-dos.

Not sure what their pricing is like, however.

Killeen, TX is only about 30 miles or so away from Cooperas Cove, TX...so I am wondering if these are consignment guns from that old, old shyster from the "Cove" or his heirs ???

The selling shop at least has tagged many as re-dos to their credit.

the serial number is too high for a 1926...

Hey Ed,

But you at least get TWO matching magazines !

Last time the "Cove" stuff showed up was on Gun Broker under the seller's name of "Ian Campbell" who was from Kempner, TX...also just next to Cooperas Cove, TX.

About a year ago the "Cove" guns where also being marketed on some new gun auction web site out of Nevada state...American Firearms if I remember correctly.

I saw the luger about one year ago. All those in the nice oak boxes had been refinshed IMHO. The store ower or manager claimed they were all original. I then left the store. And will not shop there again.

These have also been at the last couple of Houston Reliant Center gun shows. Definitely expertly refinished and being represented as "mint" at "mint" prices. :grr:

Pete,
Never been there at this store, but as you stated, the towns are VERY close to one another as I kinda live in this area. That "Cove" stuff is really messed up as I remember it from Dallas gun shows. I really would suspect some of this coming from the "Cove" inventory.
