Loose Grips

I finally got my Luger working well but I can't get grips that fit tight. I ordered black plastic and wooden replacement grips but neither set fits securely. I think the grips are a design flaw in the Luger because there is only one screw and the panels depend on small ridges that must fit exactly to stop movement. I have studied the grip area and do not see a fix. Is there some way to secure grips without interfering with the mag or action?

Thanks,

Drakejake

Hi Jake,

Try a small thin o-ring through the grip screw...with the o-ring placed between the grip panel and the metal of the grip strap.

Jake,

Another tried and true method is to run a small bead of hot glue(hot glue gun) down the leading edge of the front "ridge" of the grip.

Give it a couple of seconds to cool just a bit. Then put the grip on while it is still soft. The glue will form a space filling gasket and tighten the grip.

If done correctly, will not harm the grip, will not show, and can be removed simply by gently peeling it off.

I have done it several times. It works very well.

Ron
