Sear bar
 

Iâ??m no gunsmith.. but I will do my best to explain my little problem :rolleyes:

On a artillery shooter Iâ??m putting together, it seems to be a conflict between some parts. The sear bar does not go enough in at the rear when the sideplate is on.
So the fireing pin does not lock up with the toggle.. Is it the sideplate that is not right, the trigger lever or the receiver? ..perhaps me? ;)

I trust you mean part 18, the sear bar?
You can create a bit more space between the side plate and the sear bar by either removing some material from the edge of the side plate or by slightly enlarging the pivot hole in the sear bar.
I heard that slightly bending the sear bar can also help.

But I'm no gun smith, so someone else should say what the best and safest option is. :)

Could the question be with the firing pin, is the engagement sear on the firing pin deep enough....?

I have tried to replace the toggle with the same result, so I don't think it has something to do with the firing pin..

Lets see if I can help, I have at times on shooter grade Lugers, filed the radius on the frame, where the lever is/was not tight enough to the frame to let the firing pin fire...does it work if you hold by hand the side plate, not locked in place to the reciever, and back it out a few...a hair or two, seeing if the plate is indeed to tight...if you back it off a bit and hear a click from a cocked toggle could be the lever is the issue, perhaps it is the cut of the side of the lever that cams the sear bar plunger....always unloaded gun
