Good story
http://www.fluchschrift.net/verbrech...r/24121942.htm This is too long for me to mess with tonight, but it is a report from a SS NCO about the death of two of his soldiers on Christmas Eve 1942 at a concentration camp. He sent three SS executioners to excecute 78 prisoners who were mainly amputees. They were armed with a Russian SMG, a German SMG, a 98K and a Luger. The prisoners turned on them and killed two of the three, wounded the third, the truck driver escaped injury. While one of the SS was in the trench shooting the prisoners the others attacked the two guarding the remainder. It doesn't say but I'm guessing the prisoners were Russians. rk |
I apologize for the poor translation as my German is noit what it should be...You can get the gist of the story though. Jerry Burney

From these three men I assign again Vollprecht as the responsible person [... Over the three with shooting the Kgf. assigned men was well-known me that they had already participated in Kiew with Grossexekutionen of several thousand persons. Also at the local agency they were in earlier time, i.e. assigns also to my time, shooting of several hundred persons. For this reason and because I am strongly overloaded at present, with work, I left the execution of the today's Exekution to these three men and as a responsible person the service-oldest, SS Unterscharf. Paal, determines. At weapons the men led a German MP, an automatic soot. Rifle, a pistol 08 and m. W. still another carbine with itself. On reproach: Me the thought did not come to secure by a larger command the smooth process of the Exekution to see there the Exekutionsstelle not was and also the prisoners by its physical handicap not able was to be fled. Approximately against 15 o'clock I received a call from the Stalag that a comrade of my agency was killed wounded by the special job and a man, whereupon sent I immediately with a cart SS Hauptscharfuehrer Wenzel and SS Oberscharfuehrer Fritsch to the Exekutionsstelle. Some I kept a second call later to time from the Stalag, whereby it was communicated to me that 2wei were dead comrades of the agency. By one coincidentally with my agency I could arriving motor vehicle of the armed forces be driven immediately to the Stalag. Before the Stalag I found the truck of the commander place, on which already the two shot comrades lay. Hesselbach made message for me over the incident. Afterwards Hesselbach made shooting in the pit, while the other two comrades stood for guard in the proximity of the car. Hesselbach shot already three Kgf., stood fourth beside it, when he suddenly heard above the pit shots. Whereupon it shot still the fourth Kgf., climbed from the pit out and saw the Kgf. apart-running. It shot behind the fleeing and according to its opinion two of it shot. I drove then still into the A. Lager inside and arrangements gave that the prisoners are guarded particularly sharply. I could not make a reinforcement of the guard, since I did not have the necessary forces available. Also of other pole agencies I could not get a reinforcement, since I knew that they are in the employment. Hesselbach had already arranged on the spot with the Stalag that a command of 20 men the area after the fleeing absuchte. For further search I have then the Feldgendarmerie, pole pol.-Gendarmerie and the railway police inform to leave. Hesselbach, which motorists and the two readdressed officials have the shot Kgf. regularly with earth covered. I would like to still point out that the incident happened with the second Exekution. This preceded a shooting of approximately 20 Kgf., without special incident. Immediately after my return I refunded by telephon message to the commander in ****omir. I do not have to give further data. I insure the fact that they are truthful and is pointed out that with not truthful data my punishment and exclusion from the SS take place. Closed: Kuntze SS Ostuf. Fritz Knop, SS St.scharf. German Christmas in the central section 1942 Friedrich Hesselbach 24.1.1909 in Feudingen, continues to appear born Krs. Wittgenstein/Westf., and gives the following data on arrangement of the SS foremen of the weapon S: [... ] In the case of first transport on instruction of Paal transport had consisted almost exclusively of Beinamputierten. I made the objection against this organization to near-increase first all Beinamputierten that that would not be correct. Paal pointed means objection however back, with noticing, he would have made the organization already in such a way. The Exekution of first transport ran without incident. While Vollprecht remained with the pit, Paal and I drove back to the labour camp, where we loaded further 28 Kgf. on the truck. In the case of this second transport it concerned primarily men, who had any Armamputationen. As far as I remember myself correctly now, most all members had. Still I criticized the wrong organization of Paal. He noticed on the fact that nevertheless afles Krueppel were. I then still warned it to the special caution. To arrangement of Paal I set on the footboard with the leader house and observed myself with pulled pistol the prisoners sitting in the open car. Paal stood not on the other side of the footboard, but sat beside the motor vehicle leader. While in the case of first transport Vollprecht had accomplished shooting with its MP, I was assigned now with second by Paal. It intended to have in the case of this dangerous transport a larger firepower than guard at the car. Directly at the truck thus Paal stood for automatic Russian rifle umgehaengtem in a thick driver coat dressed and. Also Vollprecht stood with coat and the MP in the hand directly with the truck. The motorist shepherd referred posts at the edge of the pit, while I made shooting in the pit with my pistol 08. Before I rose into the pit, have I Paal again to the caution admonished and him guessed/advised to take off the coat so that it was more mobile. I continued to guess to him also to hold the rifle in the notice since we would not have to do it here with Jews. To my objections Paal reacted however in no way, but instructed contrary to my suggestion to always lead the prisoners individually to the pit that two men should be led at the same time by me and the motorist to the pit. After I had shot the first three prisoners, I heard a shouting suddenly above the pit. Since the fourth prisoner was straight when putting down, I had abgeknallt these fast and noticed then with the Aufblicken that at the truck a wild disorder was. I had heard shots fall also directly before, and I saw the prisoners searching on the left and on the right from the car to width. Over the individual operational sequence of the things, which took place at the truck, I cannot give exact data any longer, particularly since I was located in larger distance of approximately 40-50 m and a wild picture darbot the whole. I know to only say now that I saw the two comrades being because of the soil and that two prisoners with the captured weapons on me and the motorist laps [... ] out. |
More like a sad story... but the harsh realities of war aren't easily disguised...
