Interarms swiss style grips
 

I need a pair of replacement grips for my swiss style Interarms shooter that Hugh Clark can work for me. Anyone able to help? Thanks.

Rots of ruck!! Unless Tom has gotten a new set in, he has been out for ages. These things are harder to find than the original set from Himmler's personal Luger. There may be a few pair in Europe, but I haven't seen an extra pair in the US for a long time. :(

Hugh, The situation has not changed. As far as I know, there are no new Swiss Parabellum grips available in Europe. Georg Haslberger only had a few set of non-grip safety late Parabellum PO8 style commerative grips available, the last time I checked and for some reason he now only wants to sell the few items that he has instock, for export, if you are willing to purchase 50 of each item. I do have one new set of these PO8 commemerative grips left in stock @$125, but it would take a LOT of work to alter them into standard grip safety Swiss grips. Perhaps someone would be willing to part out a ratty Swiss shooter. The last one that I saw sold at Louisville for $500, and it had been in a fire. No finish, mag or grips. TH

I had Hugh actually modifiy my original grips on my swiss-style Mauser luger...had him do the full border around the grips as well. As the original checkering was so coarse and hurt my hands, I had nothing to loose...and I made this NIB gun one of my favorite shooters in 9 mm with 6" barrel.

Here is another option to consider : Buy a pair of M1929 Swiss luger Bern grips (in brown or black plastic). The red variety is too rare to use on a shooter. Save your Interarms grips and use the Swiss plastic ones for shooting. The Swiss Bern grips fit perfectly except the cut-outs for the grip safety on the Bern grips is a bit longer than the grip safety on the Interarms lugers. You would just have a slight open slot about 3/8" long when your Swiss Bern grips are placed on your Interarms luger.

I just did this with my red grips on the Interarms luger shown in the photo below. The fit is perfect and needed no "fitting" or trimming.

Pietro....My grips hurt as well but I would still like to save the originals and not grunge them up by shooting. Thanks for the tip on Stefan. Waiting on a reply from him. P.S.....I haven't had any luck finding an Interarms holster either but will keep looking.......G

The Interarms holsters pop up from time to time on e-Bay and at gun shows. I bought another on e-Bay 2 months ago and sent the holster to member Mauro in Belgium...he was kind enough to ship me a copy of V. Bobb'a 2nd. luger book.

You might call Doug and Ken at FGS...they might have a spare set of plastic Bern luger grips as well...

Mauro....it was your web site where I first saw one and helped me identify my Interarms gun. It was very helpful. I liked my INterarms as a shooter so much (NIB) that I bought another also NIB. They make it much less tempting to shoot my Erfurts............G

I would think that these types of grips would be more common in Swiss surplus circles... has anyone thought to contact swiss Lugerforum members Panda or Guisan to see what the availability might be?

Modifying Coarse-Checkered Grips -

I had a revolver with extremely coarse "teeth". Solved the problem by using extra fine sandpaper to VERY carefully give the grips a "uniformly worn" look. It also makes the grain of the wood much more visible.
