New Gun

Well guys, in addition to Lugers and P.38s, I do have other firearms I like. During my Haiatus from the Forum, I got involved with Belt-Fed guns, and here is a photo of my latest build. This is a Browning 1919A4 converted to a 1917A1 configuration. I completed the build a couple of weeks ago and finally yesterday afternoon I was able to give it a test run for operation. IT operated perfectly without a hitch. I did not have water in the jacket this time, but the next outing will have water to produce steam!

Marvin,

Show us a picture of your concealed carry holster for it. :D

Hello Hugh,

Man, you had me breaking up laughing about that one! This thing weighs about 34 lbs without water. I am getting to old to do this, but they are fun, especially with the Crankfire unit attached. I can fire this about 450 rds/min.

Actually, if I were to wear an overcoat and attach some type sling, I might get away with it, but the tripod is a different subject to carry; it weighs about 40 lbs. Here is a photo of the gun on a tripod.

Marvin very sweet!

So, I keep waiting to have you post pictures HERE on this forum ;). I get onto newbies that use photobucket, so what am I supposed to do when my friends insist on posting elsewhere?? :D

It is actually very easy if you use ADD REPLY, you can upload one photo at a time, or use Upload Photo upper right and upload as many as you want, just copying and pasting EACH url link it gives you...

OK Ed, are the additional photos without the link better now, LOL?

Marvin; how is it to get a permit for it? Just curious.. I live in a country where full autos are restricted to military/police only.
btw, nice car;)

Edward Tinker 05-27-2006 04:50 PM

Its not the link, it is posting outside of the forum.

Here is the reasoning I have always used; Many folks post pictures on another site, then figure they are using too much of their alloted space, so they delete those pictures. Meanwhile, here on this forum (or Jan Still's), the pictures disappear. If you post the pictures here, then the words and pictures are always together as long as the posting is available.

Some folks say they will simply leave the pictures on photobucket (or their website), but that is besides the point. How am I supposed to pick and choose who will not delete and who will leave their pictures up. By posting here, they can stay here, so that is the reason I repeat this same thing, again and again.

Ed,

OH YEA, now i remember the drill! John D. has it set up to keep the photos. Man, I forgot about that, but now I got it. I will post these on the Forum photo place for posterity!

Morgan,

This is a semi auto gun, I built it myself. I have a small Crank Fire unit mounted on the bottom rear. You can see the crank handle in the second photo. This makes it perfectly legal to have since it only fires one round per "pull" of the trigger. Sort of like a gatling gun. Some States don't permit the Crank Fire unit, but SC does. It fires almost the FA rate at a LOT lest cost than a FA gun and just as much fun.

Ed.

OK. I am giving the Forum photo posting a try after a number of years. Since this Forum is for German Lugers, here is a photo of my WWII MG42 on an original MG42 Lafette (tripod).

Marvin, I had no idea that you were also into full auto firearms... very nice specimens indeed!

Marvin 05-30-2006 02:57 PM

John,

Now you know why I can't afford these AND Lugers, LOL!
