Differences between 2 pistols 06/73 from the same period
 

Mauser Obendorf produce about 1973 the guns models 06/73 Parabellum in caliper 9 mm and barrel of 6 inches.
I have detected in two of these guns (please , see attached photos) that the low part of the frame is lightly different.( into a yellow circle)
Does anybody know if there is some reason for this difference?

0052214 has a Swiss grip configuration and 010930 has a German grip configuration.

I never was thinking to look in this direction!.
(mainly because both pistols are in 9 mm Para and not 7,65 like is usual for Swiss models )

Vela, The Swiss model 06/70 is the earlier and the PO8 framed 06/73 began manufacture a few years later, due to lack of acceptance of the Swiss model here in the USA. Both style frames were available in both calibers and barrel lengths. TH

But , as a curious question,please pay attention to the fact that (in the case of photos enclosed on my topic ) both pistols have a very close serial number (11.010930 in mine 06/73 and 11.005214 on the other one ).
In the last auction from Hermann Historica in Munchen Germany http://www.hermann-historica.com/ the second pistol was clasified as a true 06/73.
Both in 9 mm Para .
Do you remain with the same opinnion like in the previous answer?

The serial numbers are more than 5000 apart. Which is a great deal for postwar Mauser parabellums. Mauser did not produce many of those pistols, so the 5000 can be stretched over a couple of years.

The '11' only signifies the caliber (9mm).

There are actually some 'inbetween' versions, which we named the '1972-and-a-half' variations. These usually have the new type of frame, but some minor details from the older version (known as the 1972-version).

Note that you are doing a comparison between a 29/70 models (the top one) and what we called â??1972 and half variationâ?�. In fact the second Parabellum (bottom) is not a standard 06/73. In fact the side plate, the trigger and the dismounting lever are from a 29/70 model.
This is interesting indeed!
If you look at my web site, you can easily select the 06/73 page and see the differences between the pictures you have displayed and the 06/73 standard model.
