Value of 1918 Luger

New guy here.

A non gun friend wants to sell her grandfatherâ??s Luger that he brought back from WW2.

I am interested in it and want to give her a fair price for it.

It is German Luger dated 1918 in 9mm. It is in good condition 75% bluing remaining with very good grips.

It has a 4" barrel with a very, very pitted bore (no rifling visible). Looks like someone tried to remove it without success.

The serial number matches thru out the pistol with the exception of the number on the magazine.

What is a fair price to give to her?

Thanks in advance,

Don

Don, with the pitting and attempted barrel removal damage that you describe, the gun has lost it's real collector value... I would need to see some good photographs of the gun to give you a reasonably close estimate of it's value...

Without seeing the gun I would estimate $300-400 in the condition you describe...just for the parts... more if your description has been inaccurate.
