Is This A Unit Mark?
1 Attachment(s)
This is the tool I received with my recent DWM Police Luger. Is this a unit marking? What does it stand for?

it is a unit marking, not sure what it stands for.

Is it odd to find a unit marking on a tool?
|
no, rarer, but not odd. I have about 8-10 tools with police markings on them... not this marking though. For a while it was required to stamp the police weapons number (may or may not be the serial number) on tools, so that is more common than a unit marking.

The unit mark appears to be police. The second photo is an Imperial mark.
It is not common, yet not rare, to find police unit marked tools. Marking may be for Schutzpolizei (Protective/Municipal police) Schneidem¼hl IV (4th) Centuria (District) weapon #39 Ron |
Is there any way to tell if it is the "correct" tool for my pistol?
|
Not unless the pistol has the same marking.
|
It is correct era, because it is an imperial, so it is okay, but like Ron said, not for the actual pistol.
