A new one for Don??

Don M.
I just bought a WaA66 proofed, blank toggle "sneak" with L.KZ.99. on the grip strap. Can you decipher that one for me??
Thx, Lyn

Lyn,

Sorry I missed this. I've been traveling. The mark is actually S.Kz.99. and is from the Schupo of the city of Koblenz, the only Schupo command in that district. Formation of Schupo units in Koblenz and Trier was delayed due to occupation following WWI. I have very few of these marks in my database. Could you let me know the s/n & suffix of this pistol as well as whether it has/had sear and mag safeties?

Thx for the quick response Don. The S/N is 1892t and it is machined for both sear and magazine safeties, yet both have been removed. It is WaA66 and Crown N proofed and has a blank toggle. I would agree that the 'z' is likely lower case now that I've looked more closely at it. I can send some scans to your e-mail address if you would like.
Regards, Lyn

Lyn,

Any chance of getting a good, crisp photo of the grip strap?

Don M 04-15-2006 06:23 PM

Lyn,

Just saw the photo and realized I had a bad case of dyslexia when I read your post. This is not a Schupo pistol, it is a Landj¤gerei pistol. I'm very sorry for the misinterpretation.

Don,
Armed with this knowledge, I took another look at your Landjagerei data base and found my pistol listed. I had completely overlooked it the first time through. So much for my reading closely and remembering what I read. Thx for your help.
Lyn
