Gun Scrubber by Birchwood Casey

I cleaned my new 1918 DWM with Gun Scrubber and it of course works great. But the straw looks lighter. Will Gun Scrubber take away strawing? I also scubbed the grips with a tooth brush and Lava soap which usually works for me. But I then bleached the grips with Colrox. One grip looked great and the other turn to an ugly gray color. I stained both with a water based walunt stain and now they look great. I also oiled the gun EEZOX Premium Gun Care. It is a spray. And that helped get it to everywhere in the gun. It then dries to the touch. Also seems like a mixture of oil and wax. I like the product. Does anyone have a comment on the product for long term storage?

While GS will degrease it and perhaps give a lighter look, it will not take the straw away....and I always use GS prior to all my re-straw jobs....also I stay away from "waxy" lubes, do not want the build up effect.....hope this helps

Thanks, I will now use GS on some other strawed lugers.
