Howard,
Have you contacted Frank Manders about this? Lyn |
No, is he here on LF.....I really do not research Mauser so I do not know the folks....do you have an email address on him and is he the guy to ask? thanks
|
he goes by Frank, has the Frankenstein avatar, he knows as much if not more than Bill did on Mausers
go to this thread and then e-mail or PM him; http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...threadid=12065 |
thanks Ed I will......found another E/2 tool yesterday....when time comes to get rid of 'em I'll let you know

Using Simpson's as a bench mark is a good idea if you are making an insurance claim. It is NOT a good idea if you are trying to get an accurate market value.
My friend, Bob Simpson operates a business and has to cover overhead; ergo, he has indirect costs that factor into the prices he asks. He is a great guy and I have done a load of business with him, but his price list is not an accurate reflection of the market. As a rule of thumb, I would multiply Bob's prices by .85 to get a feeling for market value. FWIW, Bob is one of my *PREFERRED* dealers. Tom A |
Ed, thanks for the pat on the back!! BUT, Bill Munis forgot more that I know about Military Mausers. He was truly an expert and that expertise will be sorely missed!!!!

Tom thanks for the good advice and Frank as soon as I can get you pictures I will....thanks.....BTW Tom, Simpson's still sells gun at a good rate, and I never could talk them into a better deal for me, I over heard perhaps 30 years ago two collectors complaining about what Ralph S. was asking for his gun, and one replied...."ya but he's still selling 'em"......I just picked up a 1940/42 to see if I could make a buck to be real honest...
