Rhetorical question for the newbies...
Why does this wartime Luger, made in 1942, after the switch to all blued parts in mid 1937, bear small parts that are strawed instead of blued??? (anyone who has been on the lugerforum for longer than two years should not answer... let the new guys figure it out...) The answer... tomorrow, if no one comes up with it before then... :)! http://www.gmartin-auctions.com/fm_i...4/DSC07889.JPG http://www.gmartin-auctions.com/fm_i...4/DSC07895.JPG http://www.gmartin-auctions.com/fm_i...4/DSC07894.JPG |
John.
In the winter of 1939, Thor's father was abducted by SS angents while vacationing in Omaha, smuggled back to Obendorf, he was told to make himself useful... Thus began the legend of Thor's Strawing Service. -- Everyone knows that. Glen |
Nice try Glen, but NOPE...

John,
I guess you know that you just answered you own question in another thread. SteveM |

Yeah I know... but not everyone reads every post... you guys who do need to get a life :D (guess that applies to me too!)...
Ya'know... in the early days of the Lugerforum... 5 or 6 years ago, we used to have regular online quizzes with prizes donated by members to the first one with all the right answers... back then there were less than 300 members... as of today, there are over 3721 member users... the problem on the award of prizes is how do you tell who to allowed to be eligible... and who should be excluded? If someone can come up with a good way to do this, we might begin the quizzes again... they were pretty neat... and very educational. |
Amazing...Mine is 10 numbers away from that one...#8125w....neat!!

Today I found a Banner with 42 stamped, all matching and commerical marked. I next in line to purchase if the first buyer fails to show up. This model had all blue parts. Is there something wrong with this Luger? The price is $1750 and is in 95% condition. Thanks Rod PS It has an FXO mag and black grips.
|
Rod, I would ask for photos... good clear closeup photos for that kind of money... post them here and let the experts comment before you buy...
|
John, thanks for the advice. You know how hard it is to get a gun shop owner to let you take pictures. I will try and once again, thanks. Rod
