byf markings?
Question as to why some byf pistols that I have seen, have the letters and numbers shaded in white while others have some shading but not all and finally, some have no white shading of any of the numbers, symbols or letters.

The white in the letters and numbers was placed there by the owners of the guns to make the markings more visible, probably for photographs. The "GESICHERT" safety marking was the only factory applied white marking.

...for a little more detail... this "white" is usually white grease pencil, paint, talcum powder... etc. It can be anything that will not harm the finish of the gun, and that can be easily removed.

I have also seen it done in white model paint,or similar.....not so easy to remove.

Thanks to all for your help.
