WWI Navy holster

Lew, These are not falling out of trees. I have only seen one other in the last few years. Wish I could afford it. Jerry Burney

At $400 (approx) it does not seem to be that expensive though.
But I was curious when I saw it and could not find a picture or a reference in Benders Luger holster book. |
Charles,
Just wait until the last few minutes of the auction. I'll bet that it goes for a lot more than $400. Ron |
Hey Jerry,
Folks missed the plug you got from the seller in his e-Bay ad : "...one of the shoulder straps is missing but i am sure its an easy repair for jerry at lugerholsterepair..." Your reputation is getting around to the UK...!!! |
Pete, I am humbled that my fame is spreading around the globe....By now it must involve hundreds....a couple hundred anyway! Thanks to all of you who have been my patrons...Jerry Burney

This holster is an example of two types that were made as shoulder holsters. There was a 4" and a 6" version. They are not in Bender but that does not mean they aren't real. I have one of each purchased in Europe. There are period photographs that have been published in the French language "Cognisance de luger" (I think I have that right) that depict a Matrose wearing one. Just because something isn't listed
in the standard references does not mean it isn't bona fide. FWIW, I have done business with this seller and he is reputable. Tom A Tom A. |
