Need Navy toggle pin!
Out shooting today and the flange sheared off my large flange toggle pin. I never thought this could happen as the pin is essentially trapped but it did...1917 Navy. Anyone know where I could find one? I guess I could find someone to machine one. I took the small flange toggle pin out of my .30 shooter Luger and it works fine. The busted pin worked in the .30! One more lesson with tuition at Luger U.
Thanks, Jerry Burney |

Jerry,
I was speaking to a friend of mine thise evening who is trying to talk me out of my Red 9 Broom and mentioned the failure of your Navy. I would say you were more than lucky as his only experience with a Luger was a (borrowed) Swiss that had a similar failure only the pin failure in his case broke the frame, turning a $3000.00 Swiss into a repaired $700.00 shooter. Jack, As you know since you shot it, my Imperial Navy shooter is just that...Anyone foolish enough to shoot a $3000 dollar pistol is looking for trouble. Anyone foolish enough to let someone borrow their 3000 dollar pistol to shoot is a lunitic.
I take it you and Michael got back to Phoenix alright. Did you get the photo's of our shooting session? I am reloading a couple of boxes of 8MM Nambu that we shot in your Papa. I am pretty sure it will work a lot better than the one's loaded by Mr Nambu. How's Pew? Give him a scritch for me! Jerry Burney |
Jerry, great photos of Lugers used as Artillery guns; one for each hand!
Back to PHX & PPLP with only one or two naps while driving the desert. Thanks for the fun day of shooting. Cleaned 7 guns today. That old ammo in the Steyr-Mannlicher 1905 and PaPa sure was dirty stuff. The Wal-Mart White box as used in the Artillery, Sig 210, and the X5 was clean, clean, clean. Note from all the shooting to the Forum. Many peop[le say they use the Wal-Mart Winchester white box in their Lugers. I think it is a great ammo to use in all 9mm's. It feeds well, is accurate and repeatable and is very clean. My artillery cleaned up in about 10 minutes after all those rounds. Sure is fun to shoot a stocked gun at Looooong ranges that is legal and so accurate. Jack Hiles Mesa AZ |
Jack, Loaded a hundred rounds of 8MM Nambu. A really easy round to reload. Need to load a couple hundred .30 Luger for our next shooting session.
I liked the Bulk Winchester too...Jerry Burney |
Jerry, I probably have a couple boxes of empty once shot .30 luger brass available @$5/box of 50 + S&H, if interested. TH
