Tulsa...

For folks going to the April 2006 Tulsa gun show, be sure to look up the luger display collector John Eckert always has...it is usually located on the lower floor section at the transition between the upper and lower exhibit floors.

Here is the show link :

John's displays rotate and only show a portion of the wonderful collection he has amassed.

This was the April 2005 luger display (I borowed the photo from the Tulsa gun show web site) :

Pete,

I really wish you could have come down to the spring show here in Albuquerque this past weekend. His display this weekend was all Swiss and let me tell you it was awesome as usual. Maybe he will keep this for the Tulsa show.

Sid.

Hi Sid,

I have seen John's displays 3 times at Tulsa and they always have a nice, sizable Swiss portion of the display...he is one of the fellows that drove me to chase good Swiss leather these past couple of years...

I do not have Tulsa in April on my dance card...but I thought other members not familiar with John's displays and the location of the displays who are attending Tulsa for their 1st. time should not pass up such an opportunity to see with their own eyes so many excellent and honest minty lugers and fine leather...

Pete is right. Everyone really needs to see the displays that John sets up. I have been seeing them for several years and it is the first thing I look for when I go to a show. He always sets up a new and very informative display for all to see every year. You will not regret the time spent at this display.

Sid.

I have seen it serveral times and will be at the next show. I wish I could meet the other luger collectors that will be at the next Tula show. I will at table L A10,10,Lower,Section A, Row 10, table 10. Or call me at my cell (512) 917-8358. I think the next show is March 31 (Fri) and Sat and Sun.

Someone might want to formally organize a dinner event...;)

I am very tempted to go.

Are there any Oklahoma laws that would prevent me, an out-of-state C&R licensee, from buying a C&R handgun at this show?

Other than my bank account? :)

Looking for a couple of people who would like to go to Tulsa from SoCal and all points in between. The route would be from San Diego to Texas and on up to Tulsa. Figure on dirving straight through. Incidentally, a C& R would work just fine. neveragain@juno.com

If your going to the Tulas show, look for Gen. Paul Tibbets. He was the pilot of the Enolay Gay. He will be there signing autographs. I believe he is 90 years old now. I met him in 2000. I suggest buying his book and having him sign it. I thought it was a great read.

WOW, a man could spend hours looking over that display!

Pete Ebbink 03-14-2006 02:29 PM

David,

The truly enviable thing about John E's display is that it is only a small portion of his overall collection that rotates from display-to-display over many appearances at gun shows.
