SOS Dinner Thank You !!!
I wanted to be the 1st. member to give my most heart-felt thank you to Joop van de Kant for his emmense generosity in pulling our SOS dinner event together, for working with the chef at the Executive Inn West in the planning and the presentation of the BEST gourmet dinner I have had in nearly 20 years, and for Joop's wonderful donation of six (6) separate wine courses for each participant at the dinner event to enjoy over our wonderful meal.
For all who joined us for dinner...THANK YOU, JOOP !!! This Luger dinner event will not be topped in many years to come !!! Here are some photos of the dinner event. First posting is of our memorable dinner menu details : http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_menu.jpg Following are photos of the dinner event...notice how George Anderson even managed to "sweet talk" an after-dinner massage out of one of our restaurant hosts... Sorry about the lack of quality of my photos...lighting was a bit poor and some major mechanical operational errors crept in as the photographer (me...) worked through the wine offerings...:D http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_1.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_2.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_3.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_4.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_5.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_6.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_7.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/sos_8.jpg |
Just as I said on Jan Still's Forum, I am salivating with envy to see what a great event was created by Joop. Many thanks are due. I wish a similar event could be staged out here on the west coast for those of us who couldn't travel to this magnificent SOS dinner. Pete, could you identify some of our Luger brotherhood as the blood alcohol levels were evident in the partially blurred pictures!

Hi Doc,
With this group of luger characters...I will let folks decide to ID temselves...if they choose... Two who will not mind, though... 1. Joop, our evening's host, is standing at the head of the table wearing a bow tie and making some of us much smarter about wine drinking and enjoyment. 2. George Anderson managed to get an after-dinner massage right there at the table...:D |
sounds great, glad you guys had a good time! I recognize about 6 or 7 folks :)

I see that they put the bouncer behind Anderson and Armstrong. Their reputation precedes them. ;)

Ron,
That is known as an "Active defense" Tom A |
On my installation, as Patrol Supervisor, we'd have one on each side (Geo would already be in lock up :D)

Well it looks like I missed out on yet another great event.
Next year SHOT Show: January 11-14, 2007,Orlando Convention Center perhaps I can set up something like this as well Jim |
Pete, it looks like it was a great event and a great dinner... All of us who could not make it, are envious of the comaraderie you all enjoyed... Thanks to you and Joop for doing the groundwork to set this up.
Jamese, In the Army they taught us never to volunteer... but somehow there always seems to be a few who take action when other observe... looks like you are the action officer for Orlando... run with it. |
