Here is something you don't see every day.

Nice,

Notice the hold-open sticking slightly upwards. There's an empty magazine inside, pushing the hold-open upwards. Shows just how much that poor little part gets trashed at the last shot.

Wow that does take a beating.

Is the metal behind the upper part of the trigger that extends back a magazine safety?

The seller also has an original swiss army luger cleaning kit.

Saving the x-ray photo before the e-Bay ad expires...

I recently found an x-ray photo of another C&R handgun just by looking around on the web. Sometimes people who own guns who also work in medical labs...

Looked on the web for an x-ray of a Luger and didn't find anything. Unfortunately someone else named Luger is very prominent in the X-Ray field, so I get a lot of irrelevant results.

I did run across something interesting. George Eastman of Eastman-Kodak fame, shot himself with a Luger.

Eastman didn't invent X-Ray photography, just sold a lot of the film.

Article here of interest about the actual Luger he used, may be in a collection somewhere:

Interesting what connections one finds randomly browsing the web.

Hi Dan,

The "Eastman" luger (only the seller's word that is was Eastman's) was discussed in detail some time back on Jan Still's Gun Board.

Here is the link to that discussion :

http://luger.gunboards.com/topic.asp...hTerms=eastman

Seller seemed rather greedy in only trying to find a consecutive "mate" for this M1900 commercial and then would probably try to sell both as Eastman lugers. The point of fact was the first gun he owns was not established to be that of Eastman and the one used in the suicide...

Maybe the seller is now trying to find a buyer in Europe...as he was not warmly received on the Gun Board...

IMO...it looks like a nice refinished piece from a shop in Gerogia that has mastered the DWM finish technique quite well and is fooling many USA luger buyers...

One thing that appears to be fishy is that Florida doesnâ??t require registration or a permit, they didnâ??t in 1972 and we still donâ??t now.

You would think Albert Herr the man who sold the gun to Guarino would have checked Florida law before selling a historic gun if the only reason to sell it was the permit issue.
