1900 mainspring

I am the proud owner of a nice 1900 commercial but it unfortunately has a broken mainspring. This is different than the later models. Anyone know of a source for this part?

Wolf has some spring kits for the Luger. I got some for my P38. Good product and fast shipping.

Good Luck

stefanosg,
The 1900 Luger has a flat mainspring. The springs sold by Wolf are for the "new model" coil mainspring.

Rifleman,
You might try Forum member Tom Heller (he posts as "Lugerdoc", email address is: hellerarms@webtv.net )

Thanks for the info. I will be getting my first Luger shortly(1918 DWM) and will most likely want to replace that spring too.

Rifleman 02-02-2006 01:15 AM

Unfortunately Tom Heller doesn't have any at this time. Most parts sources suggested him. I guess I will try making one.

Rifeman,

I know those springs come in 2 parts, I have an old one thatâ??s broken also perhaps, by luck we can put the 2 intact pieces together to make one good one ?

Hey Jim
That is a generous offer but both pieces are broken. Just this morning Checkpoint Charlies came through with one. Their only one. Thanks to all for the help. Good Shoot'n, Marshall

I have a gun that has had the original spring replaced with a "homemade" one piece spring that works better than the original! :)

Balder 02-03-2006 10:17 AM

Numrich used to have these, it seems they're out of stock now but it's still in their catalog. I suggest you email them.

http://www.marstar.ca/luger1908s.htm . Marstar out of Canada has these parts too, but it does not specify early style or not. An email to answer this question may be in order.

Here is the ebay one, claims it will fit all. Perhaps one of the people here with more experience can confirm or debunk this.

Its item number 6565798023 , I cant get the URL to stick on this page for some reason.

The item under discussion is one of these...

Thanks for the very enlightening picture!

Ron Wood 02-05-2006 10:27 PM

Pictures are always better. Just saying "flat mainspring" obviously didn't convey the necessary information that it wasn't a coil mainspring.

GerColctor 02-23-2006 08:35 PM

I just picked up a 1900 AE that is also in need of a flat mainspring. Guess I have to go looking at these web sites and hope for the best.

Just be patient Joe... keep your eye on ebay, and make your wants known in the "wanted to buy" forum... it probably won't be more than a month or so and somebody will find some...

GerColctor 02-27-2006 07:35 PM

John

Thanks for the advise on the spring. I posted in the "want to buy" page.

Joe
