help with holster & pistol indentification

I am new to lugers so bear with me if I am not supplying enough or correct information for you to help me.

I am trying to find a missing insignia or emblem on luger holster.

The holster is marked E.K.S.t (unsure about the t their is no font to replicate the character stamped on the holster) 1939 underneath this is a Reich eagle over a Wa101.

The weapon is a 1939 numbers & 1 magazine matching Mauser 42 R code with Reich eagles over 63. The non-matching magazine is silver in color with a wooden base marked P.W. 3182 and another very small marking that looks kind of like a crown over a Pi symbol.

The gun was acquired by my father in 1950 from a fellow officer who was returning stateside and could not obtain the proper approval to bring the gun with him. The overall condition of the pistol is pretty good. The only wear on the gun seems to be from contact with the holster.

The only thing that seems to be missing is an emblem from the flap of the holster. The only signs of the missing emblem are two holes approximately 1" apart. There are no marks in the leather that would suggest the size or shape of the missing part.

Any help authoritative or speculative would be greatly appreciated

Hello, whomever you are... (I can not see your real name as you offiically are not a member and you didn't say). Once you are approved, I will move this to the New Collector area.

There were NO offical emblems on holsters, they were placed there by allied GI's. So the holes on the holster actually bring the collector value down.

Can you provide pictures of the luger and holster?

What is a Mauser R code?

Ed

As I mentioned I am unfamiliar with Lugers so please bear with me. By R code (which I now surmise is incorect) I mean that the letter suffix on the frame beneath the barrel and on the magazine have a stylized lower case r.

Following link is a photo albeit a poor one of the holster.

If the modification was done by a G.I. the badge or whatever else was there was gone by 1950 when my father came into possession of it.

Thanks in advance

Thubb, Your holster was made by Ehrhardt & Kirsten , Koffer & Lederwarenfabrik, Taucha-Leipzig. Their Waffenamt Inspectors number was 101. Again there were never any badges on the holsters. As Ed said will need pictures to correctly identify the luger. Bill

Resized and lightened the photo a bit for better viewing...
