Loading tool help
I feel stupid asking this and I did a search hopeing I wouldnt have to. How do you properly use the loading tool and what else does it do. Thanks Clint

Hi Clint,
1. The screwdriver end of the tool can be used for the grip screws and also to release the firing pin assembly from the breech block. I think this function is crude and use my more precise machinist's screw drivers for these tasks... 2. The flat side of the TD tool can be hooked over the magazine follower button and then you place you thumb on the short portion of the "L" that sticks out so you can more easily push down the followe to load bullets into the magazine. This helps with the last 3-4 rounds when the spring tension is hard on a thumb used without the TD tool... |
Wings
Is there a purpose to the 'wings' for on the tool for? I have seen on some tools that these have grooves cut into them, I guess they are not merely cosmetic.

The "wings" make it easier to hold when using it as a screwdriver. The grooves match the ridges on the magazine and keep the tool lined up on the magazine when loading the cartridges.
|
And, when your thumb slips off, the wings make the tool much more aerodynamic!
