1842... Technically not a Luger
 
Strictily speaking this post is in the wrong section but since I believe the subject will only be of interest to Swiss Luger collectors, I'll nevertheless post it here.

Here's an 1842 militia pistol that has equipped both the Confederate army (with Swiss cross) and the cantonal militias (with cantonal marking). This one has been used by the militia of the canton of Vaud

It was the regular gun used at the time of the Swiss civil war "Sonderbund-Krieg" in 1847 that led to the modern Swiss federal State (1848).

I'm pretty ignorant on these things, but was the lanyard ring common on such pistols?

To my knowledge they all have one.
