1902 Production

Does anyone know the number of 1902 commercial unmarked and 1902 American Eagles produced? Is there a difference in collectibility between the two? Are the two even in the same catagory in collectors opinions? What are the differences other than the chamber marking?

Other than the chamber marking and perhaps the "Germany" import stamp, no difference. TH

Kenyon puts 1902 Commercial production at 500-600 pieces, and 1902 American Eagle at 600-700. Historically, in the US, American Eagle marked Lugers have been valued slightly higher than Commercial versions of the same variation.

1902 Fat Barrel Lugers are being actively counterfeited, so shop with care.
