1914 Artillery on Auction Arms
Just saw this one for sale; I believe that a forum member is selling it. I have a 1917 DWM Artillery with matching stock. My question is did Erfurt put the letter suffix on their stocks as DWM did? My 1914 Erfurt Artillery does not have a suffix so I don't have anything to compare to.

Doug you are right, the AA LP08 is mine.
I have seen Erfurts with the suffix and without. In both cases I was absolutely certain that they were original. What is much more tell-tale on Erfurt stocks is the presence of "proofs" on the screws but, like the suffix, they're not always there. Is your Erfurt a full rig? What is the serial number? |
George, my Erfurt is Sn. 5165. It was the product of the first match up from the shoulder stock exchange. I got the part in trade from Joop VanDeCamp and the first try it slide on very tight. General opinion was that the early guns had hand fitted stock irons so a very high chance that it is the correct one. I have not been able to find any definative answer on the suffix or not on the Erfurts in any refrence books.
