Kind of a stupid question but.....
I was reading about the 30 luger and the 9mm luger, and was also reading how some people complain that the 30 is harder to find ammo for. But upon reading further i learned that when the Germans wanted a bigger round for their sidearms George Luger simply swapped out the barrel and mag for the gun. No other alterations were made. So here's my question and yes it does sound kinda dumb. For people that got a 30caliber Luger couldn't they simply just swap out the barrel and mag to convert it over to a 9mm Luger? or vice versa?
haha its a dumb question i know but im currious:D |
the magazines are the same

Also would need a stronger recoil spring for the 9mm!
|
So does that mean you would only have to change the barrel?

barrel -and- recoil spring.

Be aware that changing out the barrel is a serious challenge, best handled by a qualified gunsmith. Hugh Clark and Tom Heller and probably others are qualified.

Luke is right, I wouldn't and didn't attempt it myself
