1900 Commercial

I saw a 1900 Commercial in 99% Original condition today.....ser #3149...I assume this is a very early Luger.....any feedback on the value of this gun would be appreciated...Thanks...Peter..

I've seen asking prices from $5000-6500. Buying yourself a present?

Peter,

If you get another chance to look at this gun, could you please note for my database: Proof marks? Swiss cross on barrel? grip safety narrow or wide? thumb safety type? Where the takedown lever is numbered? GERMANY marked?

Thanks much for the help.

Hi Dwight.....No Swiss cross....BUG proofed.......not Germany marked...Thumb safety Old type....Not sure on the Grip Safety or take down lever numbering......should know after Christmas....Cheers...Peter

Will this excellent example be for sale, Peter, or will it go into your collection?

Peter,

Excellent. The burning question is, where is the takedown lever numbered?

Peter,
A really lovely gun, the kind that gets my attention. Interesting mark in the front frame well. I haven't seen one like that before.

lugercollector 12-30-2005 03:27 PM

Hi Ron,neither have I......also,the machining in the "well"in the back is unlike later Lugers......This gun, along with some other interesting items, had been in the same collection owned by the sellers Great Grandfather(a US citizen)since 1920....which helps explain the guns great condition
