Another Dumb Newbie Question
Please, please don't throw rocks at me.
I have to ask this question. Having cleaned a pair of armorer's walnut grips using Ted's Murphy Oil process, I am really impressed with the improvement in appearance. The question: Does such cleaning of matching grips on a collectable Luger lower its value as I understand that re-bluing does? Appreciate your comments on this subject. |
Re: Another Dumb Newbie Question
Gruss Gott,Luke!
I find that question anything BUT dumb!!! OK,Kinder, what does cleaning the grips in collector - territory do? As long as one doesn't break them or such, are they still considered "original"? Just curious,as I don't plan to touch any in the near future. Tschuss! Mark M. |
Would sure like some opinions on this. Thanks(EOM) (EOM)

Just my opinion Luke, but I would never clean the grips of a collector grade Luger with any liquid. If the grips appear really dirty I would use a toothbrush and nothing else to remove any accumulated dirt, but no liquids of any kind. Re-cut grips on a collector grade Luger is frowned upon as they are no longer completely original, and you wonder what else was done to try and improve the appearance.

Thanks for your comments, Johnny. (EOM)
