Man, that's quite a "revolver!"

Morgan,

Thanks very much for sharing this terrific document. From my own collecting standpoint I read it with a great deal of interest.

The article itself was quite accurate and correct. It was the doofus at the newspaper that added the title caption who stepped all over his poncho string.

I guess the title adding doofus got a beating in this machine by the writer of the article;)

Ron is exactly right about the headline not being written by the author, as is the common practice of newspapers. Also, it was quite common in media of yesteryear to incorrectly identify semi-autos as "revolvers." I recall one of Basil Rathbone's Sherlock Holmes movies where Watson spied one of the characters pulling a small semi-auto from a purse and he identified it to Holmes as a "revolver." Though to be fair, that could have been the editor's fault as the original scene might have shown a revolver.

I just was directed to a a site for a magazine article where a pedophile turned himself in to police in Germany because he received a Sober virus mailing advising him that the authorities were checking up on him. The headline read in part, "Pervert fingers self...." I think that headline writer knew exactly what he was doing.
