What does this marking look like to you?

I know what I think it is.
What do you guys think? ed |
Same thing that you think...
|
Me Too.
|
Same here.
|
My guess would be a squiggle on a piece of pitted metal.
Now I suppose you're going to try to tell us it's a Simson proof... |
I was thinking Krieghoff actually, it is on a tool on e-bay.
But wanted to see if others thought it the same thing. Ed |
Krieghoff was my first reaction, but I don't know squat about reproduction Lugers, so who cares what I think.
|
Ed, it's definitely a Kreigenhoffer. On page 135, Evolution of Eagles ole Sam Costanzo says " 1945 Kreighoff parts proof. Placed on newly manufactured parts after supply of used parts had been depleted. Locations noted: inside side plate, left breech block, firing pin retainer, right side middle toggle link and right reciever." He makes no mention of the pits and rust though, must be an extra or a variation.

;)

To me, this marking looks like a 150-dollar bill.

I am no KH expert, but I have certainly learned a lot about them from our dear colleague and benefactor John D.... I would venture my own opinion that his is indeed a Kreighoff proofmark.
|
