What do you think?
I purchased the magazine on the left from Revshop. Another
magazine that I have is on the right. The photos do not show how pristine the magazine from Revshop is. You be the judge. I have included the e-mail exchange from revshop (start at the bottom). I have included all of the e-mail text, so I cannot be accused of taking anything out of context. In the e-mails I stated that I thought the magazine had been painted. which is incorrect. It may have been reblued. I agree Tracy, it looks like it's been tampered with. Wasn't this Revshop guy posting here on the forum a while back about how honest and fair he is? I'd report him to Ebay for false posting, and failure to refund all costs, that should get his attention.

I don't know... As a seller, I hate to refund shipping both ways, he'd be out about $8 or $10 bucks and his description is too vauge, doesn't even say original mag, although it states WW2....
What does his refund policy state? ed |
Ed,
This guy says he has 30 years of experience with Lugers. He knew what he was selling. Read the last e-mail. Is that a threat? "If you are an expert and make such a statement ,then you prove it was "tampered with" Keep up this ridiculous dialog and you may just keep the item." This isn't about money. It's about honesty and integrity. |
You asked ,I think the follower has been replaced and thats why the mag bottom pin has been out. I dont think the the body looks like it has been refinished as the stampings do not look smudged but it could have been boosted at some point (droped in the tank without being polished). His return policy plainly says he does not reimburse shipping so if I wernt happy I would eat the shipping and settle for my money back. clint

I agree, and the few times someone has complained, I tried to make them happy, integrity is what it is about.
However, if it was me, I'd say, I'll give your money back, but you ship them to me at your cost :) Ed |
If the gentleman offers a full refund . Less shipping this I feel is a fair dealer . Ive had deals like this where I wound up with " BUPKIS" No mag no refund. I use the same policy Im happy to return your funds if your unhappy . But you eat the shipping. But To me Integrity is first.

Sell bogus items on ebay, then if your caught give a refund minus costs. Wow, what a deal.
And if they post negative feedback, then blame the buyer and say I offered a refund. And of course, don't forget to bad mouth the buyer and claim he doesn't know what he's talking about. If you get too many negative feedbacks, then create another seller name. |
Tracy,
I think the mag is probably an East German re-do. I have one just like it. Although they did a bit better job of replacing the pin. There are a ton of these floating around. Ron |
Sorry to hear this about your buy but word has been out on this seller for a while and it is a crap shoot on buying from them. Sometimes you win and sometimes you don't. Books and research. Return and eat the cost of shipping. It is a small and cheap lesson.

After the last e-mail when he said " Keep up this ridiculous dialog and you may just keep the item", I ended our discussion. I figure it's a $35 magazine that I paid $135. Losing $100 won't kill me.
This is what's great about this Forum, not only learning and passing on information about Lugers, but learning who you can trust. Midwestfirearms (revshop) is place I will never do business with again. |
Tracy, I agree with the rest that the bottom has been replace on a dipped WW2 mag. I still have a few original condition, some wear on tubes, exc black plastic bottomed FXO mags available @$100 each + $5 S&H. Tom
