Another 1921 police
For Don M. and Ron S. here is another unit marked gun that perhaps is not in your records....1921 chamber date, unit marked "S. Ar. I. B. 199.", the "B" is a capital case but shorter than the other letters...SN# 2631a. Hope this helps your research, if not I'll go out and buy another :)

Howard,
I think I'll defer this one to Don. I have a good idea, but have made an a** of myself too many times with police marks. Buy an Army Luger with unit marks. Ron |
Come on Ron. Go out on a limb. You did so well with the Rheinpolizei mark!
Howard, thanks for the info. This should be from Dienstort (duty station) I of the Arnsberg Schupo. The "B" is a mystery, if it really is a "B." Any chance it could be an "R"? If it is an "R" it would represent the Revierhauptmannschaft or Revierpolizei, the "beat" police who were assigned to police stations and not part of the barracked Schupo. Can you post a photo of the mark? I don't know if I have this in my database...I'm away from home for a while. However, don't pay any attention to Ron. Keep on buying police-marked guns. I'll never have enough data. |
Don...yep its a "B" about 1/2 the size of the other letters....I'll get a photo and send it along later
|
Howard,
I was so wrapped up in the "B", I forgot to ask if this has/had sear or mag safeties. |
No sear of mag safety....have a Merry Christmas
|
Howard,
And a very Merry Christmas to you. All I want for Christmas is a photo of this unit mark! You may be interested to know that there is an FN Browning M1900, s/n 171006 in my database with the unit mark S.Ar.II.C.5. In this instance, the "C" is larger than the other characters. It looks like the Arnsberg district had a unique marking system. |
