KOLOS, This is a WW1 type German Luger holster. It has been severly modified by the addition of the cleaning rod sleeve, new closure strap and new belt loops. These repairs are pretty amaturish and look like cotton thread was used instead of linen thread. The magazine pouch looks replaced too...Hard to say who the maker is, really makes little difference as this holster is not collector quality.

Thanks a lot for information - I still think itâ??s a good Frankenstein-holster for 10$ :)

Another THANKS for this ROBO-translation :roflmao: Itâ??s awful, really. But thanks again :roflmao:

looks like the entire lid may be a replacement as I do not see a tool pouch. May we see a front-on view of the magazine pouch so that the top opening is visible?

Very interesting â??Frankenstein-holsterâ?! No tool pouch and no pull up strap â?? never had either one. Belt loops are as originally attached and have not been repositioned from a WWI holster. The lid has a hole under the strap showing evidence of having a stud or a snap attachment at one time, but it is way too close to the edge. The pink color of the thread might suggest Mercurochrome treatment, but it is not quite â??orangeâ? enough for what you usually see. Perhaps cotton thread colors differently than linen?

If the body had a more box like toe I would think it had a Bulgarian origin. But the shape is not right for Bulgarian and the leather is generally thicker and of a better quality than you usually encounter in Bulgarians.

Perhaps it is a modification of a commercial holster? Really a unique piece and well worth the $10, regardless of what it is!

P.S. The oval cartouche looks vaguely Bulgarian. Can you tell if the letters are Cyrillic?

John, Kolos had it right...It is a free translation. Kolos probably speaks fluent English from his writings. I just thought I would try it for fun!

This is really a strange holster. Like Ron says the pull-up and tool pouch are missing. The whole thing looks like a home made except for the maker mark.
The back of the holster does not have the distinctive German holster curve in it. More Bulgarian than German...The magazine pouch looks floppy, the German is well formed.
Heck, I would have bought it for 10 bucks!
Kolos, hows the weather in Kiev this time of year? Jerry Burney

This forum is awesome! Nice to discover answers for every question "on the go". Thank you again.
The weather in Kiev is like the start of the winter - a little bit snowy, showers, temperature is +5 C.

Kolos, The weather in Keiv sound about the same as here in St.Louis. Your holster looks like something that you may have found at the Sport Stadium Flea Market. It appears to me that someone attemped to modifiy a WW1 military PO8 holster into a M08 Commerical one. TH
