Gentlemen, there is a God

Three weeks ago I found myself in a tight financial spot. After agonizing over it for a while, I was forced to sell my beloved Luger to a gun store for some BADLY needed cash. Before anyone jumps on me, there was just no other way to get the cash that I needed.

Two days later, I had the money to buy the Luger back from the dealer (the amount that he gave me plus a little more). Sadly, someone had made a payment on the gun and it was now on layaway. It was one of the sadder moments of my life.

I did not go back to that store until today. When he saw me, the proprietor came up to me and told me that the buyer had decided NOT to purchase the gun and that he was holding it for me! I was, needless to say, ecstatic.

My Luger is now back in my possession, where it will stay. I shall not make the same mistake twice! If you're wondering, it is a mis-matched 1920 DWM commercial in .30. But it shoots great, looks great, and it is MINE. I love it.

I'll bet dollars to doughnuts that everyone here has let at least one gun get away from them. And tears up every time they think about it. Glad you got it back. Now don't anything dumb like that again!!!

How many doughnuts?? I've never sold a gun that I've had. Had several stolen, traded a really beat up Luger for a Nice AC45 P38, but never sold one, still have em all stashed in my safe. I still drive my 1972 GMC Jimmy too, thats another subject, I've let some great cars go that I really miss!

hmmmm, not me, I have bought, sold, and traded many, many guns... Either your wife is very understanding (and I've met her, so I think the answer is yes :D) or you've sold other collections! :D

I have sold 2 or 3 shooter lugers this year, did the ole upgrade, bought a shooter, found a nice one, so to afford B, I have to sell A...

Unless you're independently wealthy and to tell the truth, as I have met a bunch of the folks across the USA, met about 10-15 members one-on-one, been to 5 or 8 of their houses, the vast majority is a working joe, or a retired working joe... ;)
In the back of my mind, I kind-a figured youse guys were all rich, nice to see they are just hard workers!

Ed, I used to collect other things too, Aviation Art and Winchester Model 88 carbines. Still have all that stuff too but probably would sell it now as I have lost interest in it. Those 88's got to costing way too much, more than a good all matching Luger so I had to give up something when I retired. Nope, don't work, living on my Army retirement and SS. The wife cringes when I mention that dirty 5 letter word "Luger", got even really good once after I bought another, she went out and bought a Bernina sewing machine for her quilting, cost $1600 bucks, it was quite awhile before I bought another Luger, lol.
