Three best collector gun shows?

HI All,

I retired about a month ago. I have recovered for the most part from some health problems.

I would like to hit the three best collector gun shows in the country in the coming year.
I have been to the MAX show, which is said to be among the better ones.

What do you recomend?
I have some flier miles,& the family car to use.

Thanks for any help,
broomhandle

Frank,

I would recommend the SE NAPCA convention held in late August 2006 in Chattanooga, TN.

If you are not a NAPCA member, a member can sponsor your attendance. it is $ 50 for the 2.5 day event and dinner on Sat. night is included in the price. This convention is not open to the public.

If you do not have a local NAPCA buddy to sponsor you, contact me and we can work out the details in the April 2006 time frame.

Note Added on 11-12-05 : The NAPCA convention only deals with semiautomatic pistols. Revolvers, long guns, sporting guns do not make a showing...

I think the Tulsa show is rated as one of the best, also the Las Vegas show, although I have not personally attended either yet. :(

I would suggest the combination of National Gun Day and the Show of Shows (OVMS) held in Louisville in February. They are separate shows but held in the same building on the same weekend.

To get into the SOS show, one needs to join the Ohio Valley Military Society (OVMS). You get in free for the $ 35.00 first time yearly membership.

We were thinking of going to the Shot Show in Jan. but the mentioned shows will fit into out thoughts about touring the USA.

My older son is in Mempis Tenn. I can drop her off & head for Chattanuga.

A friend of mine travels all the way from the Left coast to to the Lakeland, Florida show. He does EVERY big show in the country and always comes back with a ton of German and Japanese pistols. He swears this is the best show of all.

Dallas Market Hall

It's the only one near me that's worth anything. Usually very big.

Frank, you might want to consult a map before starting the above trip. Seems to me that from Augusta you will drive past Chattanooga on your way to Memphis which is about 400 miles to the West. Then you drive back some three hunfred miles to the East to Chattanooga. Then ya gotta do it again to get her back.

A better bet would be to drop her off in Memphis in October on your way to Tulsa. With that in mind, I believe there is a very good show in Memphis the weekend before Tulsa.

Hi George,

I checked the map AFTER I posted.(a normal occurance with me!)

The one collectors show in Memphis that I attended was very good.
Will see what happens. THANKS for all your help now and in the past.

Be well & safe,
frank/broom
