first luger
1 Attachment(s)
hello i am bidding on this luger for 350 dollars. is it worth it?
Not as a collector piece it is not.
A few faults; Nickled, as none ever came that way Grips are wrong Aftermarket magazine As a nickled shooter, yes, but I wouldn't go over $450 for it. And it looks like someone buffed the hell out of it. Ed |
Go ahead and buy it ,the sickness must begin somewhere!!
No.
Spencer, Save your money. It's a loser.
If the bore is good and you want a first Luger as a shooter, go for it. I wonder how that magazine got gold plated, I didn't think aluminum would plate??
NO NO NO way to start.
You never know it could have been taken off a german officer as he surrendered:D
I have to agree with these other fellows.
Save your money for a real Luger, unmodified. |
When you purchase items such as this you always are sorry later. Then when you realize it isn"t what you want nobody else wants it either. Save your money and buy yourself a real shooter.
I am sure you can win one of these at a carnival when one comes to town...This thing is an abomination that hurts the eyes as well as the soul. The only way this was taken off a German Officer is if he was working at the Buick bumper chroming works.
Many of my Friends and aquaintences have given you excellent advice, pursue a legitimate Luger and one, you will never again have to view this horrible gilded monster and two, you will have spent your money wisely and have a wonderfull legitimate piece of genuine history in your beginning collection. Good Luck with your decision, Jerry Burney |
Come on guys, I bought one just like it for $350, well almost, standard grips and magazine, no buffing. I sent it to a shop in Florida, had the chrome/nickel removed electrically and then had it reblued, all for another $150. Ok $500 for a so called shooter is on the high side but I now have a great looking unit marked Erfurt in the collection that I have never shot. Yea, I'd do it again. If I needed that particular one for the collection, I ain't particular.
If I wanted a shooter I'd follow Ed's advice.
If I wanted a valuable Luger...well, almost everyone has shown you about that. |
Is that a Erma?
Is that an erma 380? it's ugly lookin whatever it is. If i was you i would save my money up for a nicer Luger.
